Kitchen Processor

Essential Function:

The primary responsibilities of the kitchen team are to help, under general supervision, coordinate and participate in the preparation, cooking, and storing of poultry, beef and vegetable products in large quantities according to business needs in a kitchen setting. Each team member helps to ensure that proper food handling and sanitation procedures are being followed and prepares quantities of food required with a minimum of waste. In addition responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Estimating food requirements and procuring food from storage; inventory control and requesting needed supplies;
  2. Adjusting controls to regulate temperature of kettles to cook food; measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment; prepare meats, vegetables and other foods; cuts trim and bone meats pre and post cooking;

Desired skills and qualifications:

Potential candidates will have a general understanding of the methods and procedures of quantity food preparation, kitchen sanitation and safe food storage, the use and care of cooking equipment and utensils as well as common kitchen safety procedures.

Team member must have a high level of personal cleanliness and the ability to prepare quantities of food with a minimum of waste; organize and prioritize work assignments; make routine arithmetic computations; prepare food in an allotted time and on schedule; safely store and hold food; maintain good working relationships; understand and follow written and oral instructions; clean and maintain kitchen, utensils and equipment in a sanitary manner; lifts objects weighing up to 75 pounds; willingness and ability to learn.
